Print and Control in Pharma

Invescontrol from Barcelona, Spain, have recently integrated the Array Graphics Satellite ink jet system into their CCS.jet printing system. The system is used to print variable product data, including Data Matrix codes, barcodes and date expiry during production in pharmaceutical applications. With the capability of connecting up to 4 print heads, the printer is an excellent addition to Invescontrol’s CCS barcode readers, offering the industry a complete solution for data printing and verification at the same time in line with pharmaceutical regulations, like GMP.

Integrated Print and Control Guarantee in Accordance with GMP

The CCS.jet printer and CCS code control system meet the strict requirements of the pharmaceutical market. Based on Hewlett-Packard technology, the system offers on-line printing of Data Matrix codes and other variable data with the best quality and the guarantee that every print is checked and verified individually. The CCS.jet complies with internal GMP regulatory schemes of pharmaceutical laboratories.

Maximum Flexibility, Clean Printing

The unit consists of a main module that may connect up to 4 print heads. Each head has a 12.7 mm print width and a maximum 600 x 600 dpi resolution, using 42-ml HP standard ink cartridges. It can print any standard type of characters, logos, symbols, as well as one- or two-dimension barcodes, like Data Matrix and PDF 417. Ethernet connection is provided to other Invescontrol systems.

On glossy cardboard boxes, used for medication packaging, excellent results have been obtained with the Array Graphics’ Jet Black ink, drying instantly with black print close to offset.
